According to Mastercard’s survey in 2018, six out of ten consumers in Singapore plan on surprising their loved ones with gifts, and are ready to spend an average of S$250. With so many consumers ready to shell out a fortune on a day purportedly devoted to the celebration of love, it’s no wonder some people are up in arms about Valentine’s Day.
