Eligible S’poreans To Get GST Voucher Rebate Up To S$100
The GST Voucher – Utilities-Save (U-Save) to be distributed this month will help about 900,000 Singaporean households to pay utility bills of their Housing and Development Board (HDB) flat.
Distributed every three months, the U-Save rebate helps households in one- and two-room HDB flats offset about three to four months of their utilities bills, Channel News Asia reports.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) had announced on Wednesday (2 Jan) that eligible Singaporeans will receive the next instalment by this month.
“In January 2019, eligible Singaporean households will each receive a GST Voucher – U-Save rebate of up to $100, depending on their HDB flat type (see Table 1).
“As announced in Budget 2018, eligible households will receive an additional $20 per year ($5 per quarter) for 3 years, from 2019 to 2021,” MOF announced in a statement.
Depending on the HDB flat type, the rebate ranges from S$60 to S$100. However, HDB households who have family members with more than one property in their ownership are not eligible.
