Singaporeans Can Now Invest In Temasek Holding’s Bonds At Guaranteed 2.7% Interest Rate
Temasek Holdings has launched its first public bond offer for retail investors.
The offer opened on Wednesday (October 17) and will close on October 23 at 12 pm. It comes with a five-year maturity period and an interest rate of 2.7 per cent. The interest will be paid out every six months.
Investors can apply for the bonds via ATMs of DBS, POSB, OCBC and UOB, or through the mobile banking apps of DBS and POSB. Offers must be made in multiples of S$1,000.
To apply for the bonds, investors must have a Central Depository (CDP) account.
Central Provident Fund (CPF) members can also use up to 35 per cent of their investible CPF savings to apply for the bonds.
At 2.7 per cent interest rate, the bond offers a slightly higher rate than the five-year Singapore government bond, which is trading at about 2.32 per cent.
